Do not think of me and weep
I am still here, I do not sleep.
I am every puppy’s breath of milk
Every coat that’s soft as silk
I am a contented cat’s purr
I am the comforting hand and the cure
I am the shelter dog’s pleading gaze
I am every word of praise.
I am the barn in a morning cloak of mist
The dappled mane, the mare sun-kissed
I am my mother's prayer for peace
I am
the bountiful ocean whose waves never cease
I am in my newborn nephew's giggle
Every dog's play bow, every pup's wiggle
And when it comes time to say goodbye
I am the tear in the owner’s eye
I am every act of honor bright
And every cancer survivor who's won
the fight
I am the roar of Auburn’s football crowd
I am the bloodied but unbowed
I am the beat of the War Eagle’s wingspan
wide
And when you need me, I'm at your side.
Do not think of me and cry.
I am still here, I did not die.
